Eat at the oldest restaurant in the world

The Botín Experience

Situated in the medieval Austrias area of Madrid, Botin restaurant was founded by Frenchman Jean Botín in 1725 and has been in the González family for four generations. The restaurant has been visited by people from all over the world, including royalty, politicians, writers and Hollywood stars.

Insider’s Madrid is proud to work exclusively with the González family to bring you The Botin Experience. This includes a guided tour of the restaurant, its history, its art and its anecdotes. Following the tour, we will serve you a variety of dishes: The Classics of Botín. This signature meal includes the house specialty, suckling pig, cooked in the original ovens from 1725. Delicious alternatives are served to our vegetarian guests. When it’s time to leave, we have a gift for you to take away to keep as a reminder of your time with us at Botín.

It was absolutely amazing

“We had a group of 6 of us take the tour and have lunch May 2019. It was absolutely amazing. Erin was a great guide and we learned so much about the history, guests and owners of the restaurant. Perk of taking the tour is you also get to pick which area you would like to sit in plus we were given a Botin gift at the end of the tour. I received a pitcher and the others received plates all painted with Botín on them. What a nice touch and something we can keep to remind us of our experience. Lunch was amazing with the suckling pig, all the sides, wine and finished with dessert and coffee. I would highly recommend taking the tour to Botín to enhance your eating experience.”
