Sparkling views, vino & a long Spanish lunch
Montserrat %& Cava Country Day Trip
Be a time traveler for a day! This tour starts in Barcelona’s famed Gothic Quarter. We will visit the picturesque medieval Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia- whose cloisters are home to 13 white geese. Why 13? Because Saint Eulalia was 13 years old when she was martyred.
Making our way through the labyrinth of streets, we take in the columns from the Roman Temple of Augustus. On our route we visit a number of small, old fashioned businesses such as a coffee roaster and a prize winning dessert maker whose fanciful confections are an Instagramer’s dream.
We visit the hip and lively Born neighborhood and its lovely church Santa Maria del Mar. Originally a settlement on the outskirts of the city, the Born was incorporated into the city in the 15th century. Eventually wealthy merchants moved into the humble neighborhood. The neighborhood continues evolving- in the 21st century it has become very international and artistic.
We finish the tour in the colourful La Bouqeria food market, which is the perfect place to have lunch post tour.
