Antoni Gaudi’s iconic buildings seem to grow out of Barcelona like strange organic forms from forest glades or undersea caves. This half-day tour takes in his signature designs, from the rippled stone and twisted iron of La Pedrera to the glistening ceramics and dragon-backed roofline of Casa Batlló. En route you’ll discover other striking examples of Catalan modernism by like-minded talents, such as Josep Puig i Cadafalch and Josep Jujol. Cadafalch and Jujol reshaped the Eixample district with their surreal Art Nouveau visions. For a final flourish, you can visit Gaudi’s otherworldly Sagrada Familia cathedral or his dreamlike architectural playground at Parc Güell, overlooking the city.
