What should I pack for the Camino de Santiago?

Right Arrow on emojidex  Broken-in walking boots that provide good ankle support

Right Arrow on emojidex  Sandals or flip flops for the evening (if warm enough) 

Right Arrow on emojidex  Smarter shoes optional if preferred for smart, casual nights

Right Arrow on emojidex  Water repellent outer layer in case of rain 

Right Arrow on emojidex  Lightweight hiking pants & shorts, loose-fitting recommended (including undergarments)

Right Arrow on emojidex  A couple of quick-wicking hiking shirts (cotton is best avoided) 

Right Arrow on emojidex  Some good hiking socks & some silk liners (if you prefer to wear them) 

Right Arrow on emojidex  Vaseline to apply to your feet before putting on the silk liners or socks 

Right Arrow on emojidex  ‘Compeeds’ gel plasters are excellent for blister prevention. Can be bought easily at Spanish pharmacies.

Right Arrow on emojidex  Travel kettle (sometimes, but not always, in your hotel room – written by a British woman who likes tea so might not be necessary!)
